Find your wings

Connect, play and explore in this one day intuitive painting workshop.

Workshop ponderings

I’m having so much fun playing with all the possibilities as I continue to grow and develop my systems to help me spread my wings and fly with my business’s dreams. As I am learning more about my tribe and who I want to attract, I thought the Christmas  season would be the perfect time to share my love and expertise in  angels, intention and intuitive art.

As with all of my workshops, they are based on my  Wild Soul Creativity approach which easily and quickly guides you as you learn how to connect with your creativety and find the space for you.  As you develop these intuitive skills you will be supported in you in holding your own space in your daily life.

Finding your wings

This one day angel painting play date is my angel intuitive workshop called ‘Find your wingsand I’ve put it up on eventbrite. It is such a new learning as I work out how I want to put myself out there and share what I know and love with others who want to step into their own creative intuitive self. I am excited to offer my approach and the amazing Angels they will create as they connect and listen to their own intuitive guidance.

A playful adventure

Life gets so busy and we easily get stuck in that work and responsibility head space. When is there space to actually connect to our heart space. To explore who we are within and nurture our soul? It is so easy to lose sight of our possibilities when work takes over and sometimes it feels like there isn’t any room to breathe. This painting play date is about finding that space to allow that connection with who we really are and playing  with paint and luscious mixed media supplies. Art has a way of helping us find our way back home to ourselves where we can connect back to our creative soul and remember our joyful child as we play and create together.

Connecting

Then when we have our completed angel paintings we will learn easy ways to start conversations with our angels and receive guidance. Learn some easy questions to help you connect with that inner wisdom and the gentle guiding voice of your angel.

Who is this for

This workshop is for anyone looking for something more. A way to connect back to the parts of you that have been lost along the way. No prior art skills are required. Bring an open heart, a willingness to play and enjoy the adventure as we connect and remember how to listen to our guidance and our wise self. Let the beautiful energy of the Angels surround you as you paint, play layer and listen.

An invitation

I believe that art is a sacred place to connect and go deeper. Painting is an opening to another world and invites us on an adventure. You are invited to share my studio and be part of a small group of 6 women as we play, paint and connect through paint and mixed media. Create your own mixed media angel painting and receive guidance from your angel. This is about creating a sacred space where we can play togethert  and connect with our own wild soul creativity.

What to bring

Bring your basic supplies and an A4 visual diary. I will supply lots of luscious matte rials for you to play plus the canvas  for your creative angel play date. More information at the link below.

Choose Joy!

I have been exploring my world and my passions as I dive into my art world.

Find Joy

Life is an adventure….finding joy is your destination.

As I explore what it means to follow my soul path and I am wondering about the power of the word passion. Passion is such a powerful word with so many expectations that surround it.

This is the passion space that is home to me. I have known that I wanted to create and teach since grade 2. The reality is that I am an exception.

After teaching in the school system for over 2 decades it is obvious that many students come into a secondary school space with absolutely no idea what they want, many are still not sure when they leave at year 12. This has almost become the norm as many universities choose to start students with a generic overview course.
Last night I watched a wonderful video on super soul Sunday’s where Elizabeth Gilbert talked about curiosity as a path through. She talks about passion as not everyone’s path. Some of us have amazing adventures and try lots of different things like hummingbirds moving from flower to flower. These gatherers that sample lots of things, immerse themselves and move on are the amazing majority and they are continually searching, exploring and playing. The point that is highlighted here is that we are here to find joy and that takes many forms and is not one path for each person.

The real question is what brings you joy?

What lights your fire and makes time feel endless may be passion but what attracts you to something may change. A passion can change. Who made the rule that you could only have one passion for your entire life? You are not the same person you were 5 – 10 – 20 years ago. We change and the things we love change and passions can change too.

For some people there is one burning passion that has lit them up for as long as they can remember. These are the people who are all about passion and purpose that is focused on one thing. This is what is often referred to as a soul path For others they may have multiple areas they live without having one single passion. They love lots of things and have no desire to narrow their focus. They are happy in their magnificent world of choices. You may have a life path that is an amazing multi – faceted exploration of the world. The one thing to hold in your heart is that we are here to seek joy. If we do not know our passion because our world is full of lots of things Elizabeth Gilbert suggests that we choose to be curious. Perhaps you will be surprised by joy.
Perhaps it is time to step back and take the broader view. Whoever you are, and whatever your life purpose, the whole idea of this amazing adventure we call life is to find joy. If that is one thing or many things, it’s your journey and you get to create it…your choice, your possibilities. Be curious, notice the moments and ask ‘what if’?

Remember

Life is full of choices….

……choose. .
…… what brings you……… JOY!

Find your soul path

Balance and small actions

Balance is one of those illusive things that we all strive for but somehow it tends to get lost in the business of our days. Right now I’m reclaiming my balance. I am sitting in the winter sunshine on my studio porch on a gorgeous Melbourne day. It is time to get back into a blogging habit. I have been so focused on creating that I have neglected my tribe and all the wonderful people I share with. As I write up my email course on sacred space I am reminded of my own practice and I take a few slow deep breaths and centre. It doesn’t matter how well you know what you need to do…it is the regular practise that makes the difference. So today is about taking a few small actions to get me back on my soul path. Yes it is easy to get distracted but there are so many small actions that make such a difference. I have a small alter in my studio that helps set my sacred space so today I paid attention to ensuring that everything on the alter was there for a reason. Our sacred spaces definitely need regular tending if we want to stay in balance. Knowing the steps is never enough as it is the intention that brings in the focus needed to stay on our soul path and connect.
Now I have acted in these small ways, I am free to return to my painting…a beautiful angel when is evolving as she holds trust and reminds us to listen. She is exactly why I need right now so I am thankful for her wisdom.
I will update this post when she is complete but I have uploaded what I created this morning. We all need these small reminders as we allow our hopes and wishes to take shape as we listen to our inner wisdom and take a few small steps.

Holding trust

Holding Trust

She has come to remind us that it is time to trust our own inner whispers and allow our bliss.

It is a day later and winter has set in and the sun has gone into hiding but she reminds me to hold on to my truth as I move forward on my soul path.

Exploring pallet paintings

She called to be completed today. Gentle soulful and cradling the vibrant energy of her dreams. This piece started as a pallet painting background. The face and feathers flowed into place. I added the angel necklace which is a talisman I have worn for years.the energy ball nestled in her hands is a nautilus shel of potential. The feathers in her hair are symbolically her guiding spirit as energy shimmers around her. Deep within the dreamer creates and waits for us to respond. The layered white background is an element that I am really enjoying playing with as it adds so much to the possibilities as we read these visual stories.

Art interpretation and Soulcollage®

I am a trained soulcollage® facilitator and one of the techniques I teach is how to read your personal soulcollage® Cards is the process of completing the sentence I am the one who…’ This is a beautiful technique to use when you find an artwork (or create one of your own) that you really connect with. By completing this sentence you allow yourself to identify with the image. Simply choose the part of the image that attracts your attention and complete the sentence. Below I have created a couple of sentences based on this piece. If you continue to repeat ‘I am the one who…’ Your responses become deeper and deeper and more tapped into the depth of your subconscious, your intuition and inner guidance.

The nautilus shell

I am the one who waits curled into a spiral, ready for the world and waiting to unfurl. I am the one who radiates energy as I am potential and possibility.

The Angel

I am the one who whispers guidance and answers the unseen questions to open doors of sight. I am the wings that protect and the wings that fly free.

It is a lovely and powerful process that allows you to connect with your intuition and side step your conscious mind and your inner critic. It opens you to deeper insights and understandings. Have a play with this technique and see how it works for you. It also works well with oracle card decks, especially if you are unsure where to begin.

Playing: spontaineous possibilities.

Okay it started off as. 30 minute challenge but it is so hard to stop. I wanted to see what I could learn by setting myself a tight time limit as I am good at continually revisiting an art work and tightening up sections which has its place but my intuitive artist wants to play and this time limit gave me a whole different type of freedom. I started with a pallet page. This is my watercolor paper that I have used as a pallet. Once the page is covered and an idea is obvious this is then transformed into a painting. She definitely felt like an angel right from the start. There was so much gold on the page so I just played. I new that she needed to be holding something but it wasn’t coming to me and I caught myself trying to  think about it rather than trusting it would come. A small tree or a bird..a bit standard although I have used them both before. So I continued with the rest of the image and let go of the holding space. Then the word ‘joy’ came into my head and it was a lovely idea. Why couldn’t she be holding a word as words have energy and ‘joy’ has the most beautiful vibration. So I added the word and she felt complete. Even as  write this, I find myself wanting to fiddle and refine little bits but I know if I do I will lose some of the magic captured in this spontaineous intuitive piece. It really emphasized that desire to continually correct rather than just looking for what I love and building on that…I admit I did make 1 small change to her face shape…

40 minute play…creating an angel from a pallet page. An original art work by Cheryle Bannon©

Your turn

Enjoy playing with quick, spontaneous painting by using a time limit to help you stay in the flow, let go of over thinking and allow yourself to play. Oh…and I would suggest setting a timer or having a clock near by as time seems to have  a way of mmagically shifting when you are immersed in the flow.

I encourage you to try this 40 minute challenge and share and link your posts…have fun!

Sometimes the muse surprises us. Yes…of course we are looking and exploring possibilities but then there is that moment of magic. Something falls into place. It has always been illusive but now it seems obvious. Why didn’t I know this all along or did I need all those other bits of understanding yo step into this space. I just needed permission to play and let all the layers of learning that has shaped me and my art flow. It is all about finding the space for joy and possibilities and just letting go of expectations and seeing what happens.  No rules to break because there are non in play as it is about being in the moment. I want joy and play and abandon. Whatever comes through is what is ment to be. When I play and just do what my gut tells me…I listen, then somehow everything seems to flow. It is simply play and possibilities.  It is about just following my heart and the soft inner voice of the muse that seems to get louder and louder, the more that you pay attention to it. This freedom is delightful and unexpected. I love those moments of flow that seem to appear at unexpected moments and fill you with a sense thatsome amazing gift has been given to you..when everything is falling into place.  Remembering  to just going with ad whatever I do is okay when I invite my inner child to play. What joyful possibilities await.

I love this space of openings as I explore and play with paint. The freedom and the images below are what came through. They just seemed to appear with no real effort. Magic and possibilities. Art is such a wonderful place to explore our amazing world.

Some of these pieces are works in progress, some are completed and others reworked but all are playful explorations of possibilities with lots of stories within the layers.

Presence of angels

This painting has had many stages as I layered through the journey. It started as an older work that I was not satisfied with and so I reworked her until she became something new. There is a lot of symbolism in this piece. The hummingbird symbolises joy. Flowers have a beautiful energy and the five petals always link back to the Goddess. The doll in the young girls pocket is the gift of intuition that she carries with her always and was a gift handed down from her mother. Their light and energy swirl around them and connect them in this moment. The Angel carries creation within her as a benevolent guiding energy.

I have been working on some polymer clay pieces. Thought I would photograph and post an angel I have been working on. Well it was one of those moments. The sun was in just the right position as it streamed through the window. The rainbow rays surrounded her and I couldn’t have planned it if I tried. The effect of the light only lasted a few minutes. I do love the winter sun and yes I am grateful for these small moments that catch my breath and make me wonder about the beauty surrounding me in every moment. Love the synchronicity here. I still need to work out the final coloring and where to from here for this piece but this is my angel in rainbow rays. Love the moments when life and beauty collide and give you surprise gifts…thank you…so grateful for this moment.
